Behind every “body tea” and “skinny legend” is an industry selling illusions, profiting off of our insecurities. So Jen and Jill share how to recognize the spending traps around body trends and guide us toward healthier, lasting ways to feel confident. Because loving yourself should always be free!
Being skinny does not make you more qualified than somebody else, and not being skinny does not make you any less disciplined than anybody else.

When Healthy is Toxic
Jen and Jill recognize the harsh reality that women are expected to keep an outside appearance of beauty. Unfortunately, social media makes this worse by amplifying unrealistic and extreme beauty standards that fuel insecurity and the pressure to be perfect. That pressure then often leads to spending in the endless pursuit of that perfection even in a season of economic downturns.
They touched on popular trends like GLP-1, healthy eating & supplements, and #FitTok, pointing out how they can push people toward insecurity and overspending, often in harmful ways. They then offered actionable steps to help you embrace and appreciate yourself just as you are.
Show Up As Yourself, As You Are
All the noise on social media tells us to use this, try that, do this, do that. Jill recommends the Shuhari method—follow the rule, break the rule, transcend the rule—by choosing one trusted voice and sticking with it. Meanwhile, Jen reminds us not to let the weight loss industry profit off our insecurities. The more we spend, the more we fuel the cycle that keeps them thriving.
At the end, they remind us that our body is worth loving today and not only when we achieve someone else’s idea of health. Because health comes from habits that are consistent, sustainable, and enjoyable. It might not be an easy-fix, but it will last.
A TikTok wellness trend you’ve tried AND actually liked
Walking 8k-10k steps a day for Jen has been good mentally and physically. While Jill loves water therapy!
