What To Budget For June
On the last Friday of every month, Jen and Jill send their Friendletter subscribers (their newsletter) a budget toolkit to help them create the most comprehensive budget possible for the upcoming month. For the month of June, they go over summer activities, vacations, Father’s Day, graduations, weddings, higher utility bills, and early back-to-school costs.
They also cover what’s usually on sale in June and what produce is in season so you can plan meals, save on groceries, and avoid overspending all summer long.
June’s Money Move: Income Check-in
Jen says that this month is a season where we take a step back from all the May spending therefore it is a great time to check-in our income so by the time you are already amped up on increasing your income.
They list down all the four practical ways to increase your income by checking whether you’re being paid fairly, tracking your accomplishments for raise negotiations, and making sure you’re not missing out on workplace benefits and extra compensation. They also encouraged creating a clear 6-month income strategy with specific, actionable goals instead of vague plans to “make more money.”
What's one thing you’re going to prioritize spending this June?
Jill will spend on convenience food this June in preparation for their CFP exam. Same for Jen since it takes most of her time.
