Listen on Your Favorite Podcast Player

We asked how you’re making extra money on the side, and your answers were surprisingly creative! Some are genius, some are chaotic, and some might not be worth the effort. In this episode, Jen and Jill rate seven real listener side hustles on a scale from LOVE IT to LEAVE IT.

This provides the opportunity to, in your spare time, instead of scrolling social media and potentially spending money you can be making a little money!

We Rated Your Free Side Hustles

Jen and Jill share seven side hustles that Frugal Friends listeners are diving into, looking at both the highs and lows of each and whether they love it or would rather leave it alone.

Some people prefer quick, low-effort options like donating plasma, which can bring in fast cash. For those who adore pets, pet sitting or dog walking is another favorite. Research surveys are also popular because not only do they help companies gather insights, but they also replace some of that social media doomscrolling with something that pays.

Rating Your Semi-Professional Side Hustles

For listeners willing to go the extra mile, some side hustles like DoorDash. However, Jen and Jill suggest being cautious since the income can be volatile and the platform can be vulnerable to scams. On the other hand, Teachers Pay Teachers is a great option for educators because it’s scalable and can become semi-passive over time.

For creative and artistic people, freelancing in graphic design is highly recommended because it offers more stability and higher earning potential. Lastly, they talk about the classic side hustle: reselling. While it can be a fun hobby hustle and a way to make money from items you already own, it can also create clutter and can be difficult to scale.

A side hustle you’d try purely for fun

Jill would like to try cleaning airbnb. Meanwhile Jen wants and is actually going to try mystery shopping.
