Eight years ago today we started a podcast about saving money and somehow it turned into a movement. For 8 years, Frugal Friends has been helping people spend intentionally, save wisely, and push back against a culture of overconsumption. So for our 8th year anniversary, we want to share how frugal friends have impacted you and give you a chance to shape the future of Frugal Friends.
The show has never just been about us, it’s always been about this community.

Memory Down the Lane
Jen and Jill look back on some of their best podcast memories. One iconic moment for Jen is the opening of the Star Wars Holiday Special. For Jill, her favorite is Bill of the Week, and she shares how it all came about. They also talk about their friendship, the behind-the-scenes of each episode, and the parts of their lives outside the podcast that most of us don’t get to see.
Beyond the hundreds of episodes they’ve done about saving money and living frugally, their work has created life-changing impacts for listeners in every season of life and they share some of those stories here.
What’s next for Frugal Friends?
These girls are leveling up their game and making sure there’s a lot in store for you. First, they’re incorporating more financial planning into everything they do as they work toward becoming CFPs. You’ll also start seeing more of their content on YouTube—with more visuals, more well-rounded content, more financial planning, and a lot more.
They ask what type of content you’d like to see more of, so head over to their YouTube channel and say your piece about the type of content you’re most looking forward to.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Jen sees herself more embedded in her community, with more people she can call with questions and more to offer others. Meanwhile, Jill sees herself retired, loving her life, and helping people.

Helping me save!
I have read several finance books in the last few years now that I am an independent adult learning how to enjoy life while also saving and investing for my future. I think this book was a great resource and addition to my finance knowledge brain! As someone who has followed the Frugal Friends email chain for a while, I feel that the book took the things I have learned simply from the emails and dove even deeper into some great tips for me to enjoy life and not deprive myself while also being responsible1!!! I actually am moving apartments soon and feel that some things I learned in this book are going to help me discern better and plan better for how to make my move and decorate to my liking without breaking the bank. I am glad I read it!!!!! Thank you authors!
