For years, Amazon felt like the ultimate frugal hack with its low prices, fast shipping, and everything you could ever need in one place. But today’s Amazon looks very different.
Jen and Jill unpack how the platform became crowded with third-party sellers, questionable product quality, counterfeit items, sponsored listings, and reviews that aren’t always trustworthy. They dig into the hidden costs behind the convenience and reveal the darker side of the company that changed the way we shop.
How to Beat Amazon at Its Own Game
Amazon only speaks one language: money. Jen and Jill advise that if you’re going to buy cheap imported products, don’t pay Amazon. A quick reverse image search can often reveal the exact same item on sites like Temu, Shein, or Alibaba for a fraction of the price. And if it’s something you’ll use often, consider skipping the bargain bin entirely and paying more for better quality. A product that lasts years is usually more frugal than one you’ll need to replace in a few months.
At the end of the day. The biggest money-saving tip has nothing to do with where you shop—it’s buying less in the first place.
